ARM-BRIT-COM IN MONTREAL
KEV ORKIAN: AWESOMENESS INCARNATE

  What a show! He's awesome! What a comic! What an amazing pianist! Let's come back tomorrow night! These were some of the comments heard from the lips of spectators as they left the Saturday-night show, huge smiles on their faces.

 And with reason. British-Armenian stand-up comic and pianist Kev Orkian left the audience breathless with laughter with his comedy routine and wide-eyed with amazement at his skill on the ivories. For over an hour and forty-five minutes we watched this Armenian dynamo perform – except, of course, for those times we were doubled over with laughter.       Read more...

Camp History

AGBU Camp Nubar History, Background and Mission Statement:

AGBU Camp Nubar is sponsored by the Armenian General Benevolent Union, which was founded by Boghos Nubar in 1906. It is a non-political philanthropic organization whose purpose is to preserve and promote the Armenian identity and heritage through educational, cultural and humanitarian programs.

AGBU's Membership is twenty-three thousand and it serves 500,000 people through its various programs.

Camp Nubar is one of the programs established in 1963 to serve not only the Armenian youth, but many others who are enriched by the Armenian culture and traditions.

Important Dates for 2009

  • Saturday July 4th - Camp Begins!
  • Saturday July 18th - First Session ends
  • Saturday July 18th - Second Session begins
  • Saturday July 18th - Trial Session begins
  • Sunday July 26th - Open House
  • Sunday July 26th - Trial Session ends
  • Sunday July 26th - First Half Session ends
  • Saturday August 1st - Third Session begins
  • Saturday August 15th - Camp Ends!
