Sports Parents' Auxiliary launch a successful first Event

Montreal, April 4, 2007 - The newly formed Sports Parents’ Auxiliary of AGBU Montreal held its first event on Saturday, March 31, 2007. The event was a family style casual gathering with dancing, music, good food at the Dervishian Hall and the inaugural of the “Sports’ Café” with its giant TV screen. The event was very successful in generating funds, which will be entirely dedicated to the purchase of sports uniform sets for the various AGBU Basketball teams.

The Parents’ Auxiliary was recently created as an initiative of the Sports’ Committee at its Open House weekend event on February 9 & 11, during which a presentation outlined the mission, the values and the objectives of the AGBU Sports’ programs.

Several actions were immediately adopted: the establishment of a Parents’ Auxiliary to help out with the junior sports’ programs and the formation of a second senior basketball team.
