EVENING OF CLASSICAL MUSIC TOPS

THE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS OF 2006

 

  

Montreal, Nov. 26, 2006 – Vincent d’Indy hall was filled to capacity by classical music lovers, who had come to listen Mrs. Juliette Galstian, the opera singer who was accompanied by Mr. Gregory Chaverdian in a program of Rossini and jewels of Armenian classical composers such as: Gomidas, Dikranian, Sbentyarian, Stepanian, Toloukanian and Aprahamian. Juliette Galstian’s superb rendition of La Danza, with a theatrical, confident and coquette stage presence conquered not only the hearts of the public but also their spirits. The concise program was complemented by three encores.

 

The accompanist, Gregory Chaverdian an accomplished solo pianist, offered a superb recital and made this musical evening flawless.

 

The organizer of this event, the Cultural committee of AGBU Montreal chapter, under the leadership of Mrs. Arsine Attarian thanked the performers and invited the chapter’s chairwoman Dr. Rita Kuyumjian to honor Mrs. Juliette Galstian for her performance with AGBU’s Centennial commemorative plaque. In her speech the chairwoman thanked and congratulated the artists for the outstanding selection of the performed master pieces. She concluded by emphasizing the fundamental role of AGBU in supporting and promoting arts in Armenia and within the Diaspora.

 

This concert was the last program of AGBU Montreal chapter’s Centennial Celebrations in the year 2006.
